Family Medicine education is a source of great pride for Riverside County Regional Medical Center and the University of California Riverside.  Our residency program is currently one of three ACGME-approved residencies based within the hospital and we are primarily involved with all services in the hospital.

In March of 1998, a state-of-the art, 322 bed hospital was built in picturesque Moreno Valley and was renamed Riverside County Regional Medical Center.  This marked a new era in both the Family Medicine Residency Program and the County of Riverside.  Throughout the years, our program has thrived in an environment with a strong commitment to the underserved populations of Riverside County.  Currently our population sonsists on indigent 60%, Medi-Cal 25%, and Medicare 10%.  Given our large multi-cultural population including 60% Latino, 15% African American and 5% Asian, our residents are making a positive impact within our community and receiving rewarding experiences that will follow them for a lifetime.

In addition to seeing continuity patients in the Family Medicine Clinic at the hospital, our residents also see patients at two of the County Health Agency Clinics; Don Schroeder Family Care Center in Rubidoux and the Dr. Robert Bruce Reid Health Clinic in Perris.
